'Without freedom, no art; art lives only on the restraints it imposes on itself, and dies of all others.' - Albert Camus

From 18:30 onwards.

A special ALF 2007 edition of Van Gogh's weekly late-opening Friday evening programme to coincide with the current exhibition Max Beckmann in Amsterdam, 1937-1947.

Appearing between 20.00-20.45 are US 'light artist' Eric Staller and popular English performance poet John Hegley (see Thursday 17 May), with the world première of his poem about Max Beckmann and other art-related gems.

At 21.00, Paul Koek’s Veenfabriek (an ensemble or artists and scientists who create experimental music theater), will be doing a performance inspired by the world of Beckmann.

Additionally there will be a video installation by Gerbrand Burger from 18.30 when DJ Dirkson will also be spinning. Not only is he renowned for B-movie sounds and special moog vibrations (electronics from the past and present), but also intoxicating acoustic ballets or refreshing chansons. DJ Dirkson is an audiophile with a background in radio making (NetEcht) and experience as musician.
