'My aim is to put down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way.' - Ernest Hemingway

Writing a novel is often a marathon experience; the challenges are in starting, in 'keeping the faith' and, of course, in finishing.

This two-day workshop is all about technique. You'll work on defining your fiction-writing strengths (dialogue, character, voice, plot, pacing, etc); deploying those strengths in the novel form; knowing your genre or subgenre; generating material more fluently; finding a balance between structure and freedom; solving writing problems native to the novel; and revising a book-length manuscript.

The weekend is aimed at providing an overview of what it takes to complete a novel: you do not need to be working on a book to attend the workshop and both beginning and established writers will benefit.

Taken by Lisa Friedman (Amsterdam Writing Workshops).

Time: 13:00 - 15:00
